Books…..

where do they all come from,

I swear they breed in hidden corners,

well, today I am sorting through them, again,

the pile of books not to move is growing larger!

Many haven’t been opened for years,

some are no longer useful,

some are, but I won’t use them,

can a book be no longer useful?

Then novels, novels with enticing covers,

I might read them again I think,

but I know I won’t,

I haven’t read them again yet,

and there is always a new story…

+

in some ways they have been my comfort blanket,

time to be brave and strip it away,

then of course ministers like to tell everyone how many books they have…

it makes our studies look important,

or maybe just cluttered,

depending on your point of view,

there will be more books,

I know there will,

but for now I am being ruthless with myself…

I may regret it, but I doubt it….

it is a part of letting go,

embracing the new,

one step at a time…

+

I look at my shelves,

ten more books join the pile…

+

I may start on my wardrobe next…

About Sally C

How do I describe myself, I am not what I do, (I am a Methodist Minister), I am not who I am related to (I have 5 wonderful children, 2 lovely granddaughters and 2 lovely grandsons). I am a seeker truth, a partaker of life in all it's fullness and a follower, sometimes stumbling, sometimes celebrating of the Christian pathway. I seek wholeness, joy and a connectedness to all things through a deep reconciliation with the God whose love blows my socks off! I love walking, swimming and photography, I dabble with paint and poetry...
