Prayer in the overwhelm….

Do you ever just feel overwhelmed?

The floor needs sweeping,

the dishwasher emptying,

the washing machine filling,

there is vacuuming to be done,

dinner decisions to be made…

+

Then there are emails to answer,

plans to be undertaken,

journeys to undergo..

there are petitions to sign,

causes to support,

so many cry for justice,

so many….

maybe I will write,

am I procrastinating? (probably)…

+

I have a broken chair in the garrage,

it needs to go to the tip,

along with a broken cat frame,

they didn’t use it,

a waste of money…

I need to start clearing,

anyone want some books?

+

there are books I want to read,

and I haven’t been for a walk for days,

it’s just too much sometimes….

+

Maybe I’ll go back to bed,

maybe not

+

how do I pray in the midst of this?

can I flee like Elijah to a cave?

Will you find me here,

will you bring me to life?

Can even these dry bones live?

Can living water flow again?

About Sally C

How do I describe myself, I am not what I do, (I am a Methodist Minister), I am not who I am related to (I have 5 wonderful children, 2 lovely granddaughters and 2 lovely grandsons). I am a seeker truth, a partaker of life in all it's fullness and a follower, sometimes stumbling, sometimes celebrating of the Christian pathway. I seek wholeness, joy and a connectedness to all things through a deep reconciliation with the God whose love blows my socks off! I love walking, swimming and photography, I dabble with paint and poetry...

AS ever, Sally, your honesty and perception speaks to my heart. I love your art work, and your poetry. Thank you . I needed this today, xxx
