Holy Week- Maundy Thursday- Remember

A command given,

remember, love, serve,

dare to be the one who washes the others feet,

dare to be the one who kneeling looks into their eyes,

dare to be the one who calls all loved, precious, honoured,

dare to take the broken bread,

the wine poured out,

and find in it a holy place, a holy space,

and speak…

remember. love serve,

remember those who are excleuded,

remember those who are marginalised,

remember those who are rejected,

abused, turned away,

and in love speak….

there will still be horrors unspeakable,

but speak, speak truth to power,

serve the outcast, the refugee, the poor,

see in them what Christ sees in you,

one made in the divine image,

worthy of honour, respect a safe lodging…

+

Today I say #notinmyname

I say no to the deportation of refugees,

I say no to increasing poverty,

I say no to war,

I say no to aggressors…

+

Loving Christ,

I thank you that you remind me today,

that you would wash my feet,

that you would call me clean, despite my inconsistency…

+

Help me to follow,

to take up the bowl and towel,

to kneel in love and service,

to be open to your command!

+

Today I will remember…

About Sally C

How do I describe myself, I am not what I do, (I am a Methodist Minister), I am not who I am related to (I have 5 wonderful children, 2 lovely granddaughters and a grandson). I am a seeker truth, a partaker of life in all it's fullness and a follower, sometimes stumbling, sometimes celebrating of the Christian pathway. I seek wholeness, joy and a connectedness to all things through a deep reconciliation with the God whose love blows my socks off!
