Lent Day 28- bless, pray, taste see…

More than half way through Lent,

these days seem to be moving quickly,

I began Lent under a cloud of despair,

have watched the days lengthen and the seasons turn,

felt the warm sun on my back,

and though snow is forecast tomorrow

something in me is turning,

I see the blossoms on the trees with a kind of wonder,

their fragility is mixed with resilience,

they hold fast in wind and rain,

stay in place through the cold nights,

I am resilient,

even in this resting time.

Yesterday I took a walk and began to pray for others,

the prayer rose within surprising me,

I was looking to the future and blessing it,

blessing those who will take my place,

and the place that I am going to take…

+

Yesterday I cooked a meal,

and blessed it,

I chopped, onion, garlic, ginger,

mixed spices,

chopped peppers and beans, and shredded cabbage,

chicken was added and a stir fry made,

and it tasted good!

It tasted good, and I felt joy in the tasting

These simple things are noteworthy,

the seasons are turning,

and I am turning with them…

About Sally C

How do I describe myself, I am not what I do, (I am a Methodist Minister), I am not who I am related to (I have 5 wonderful children, 2 lovely granddaughters and 2 lovely grandsons). I am a seeker truth, a partaker of life in all it's fullness and a follower, sometimes stumbling, sometimes celebrating of the Christian pathway. I seek wholeness, joy and a connectedness to all things through a deep reconciliation with the God whose love blows my socks off! I love walking, swimming and photography, I dabble with paint and poetry...
