Lent Day 22- stripped back and real…

Lent, desert wilderness,

stripped back reality,

calls us on…

but on from where we are,

we never begin from where we want to be!

stripped back and real

we are left to ponder our past,

to lament,

to rejoice,

to learn,

to let go,

neither our past success nor our failings

define us,

they have formed us, but they are not what we will be…

what we will be lies before us,

so here,

stripped back and real

we need to discern how to move forward

into the future that awaits us,

the real us,

the divinely dreamed, (w)holy created us….

for what we will be still awaits us

Spirit breathed growth is possible,

but for now we are stripped back and real,

ready for new life to begin!

About Sally C

How do I describe myself, I am not what I do, (I am a Methodist Minister), I am not who I am related to (I have 5 wonderful children, 2 lovely granddaughters and 2 lovely grandsons). I am a seeker truth, a partaker of life in all it's fullness and a follower, sometimes stumbling, sometimes celebrating of the Christian pathway. I seek wholeness, joy and a connectedness to all things through a deep reconciliation with the God whose love blows my socks off! I love walking, swimming and photography, I dabble with paint and poetry...
