Lent Day 18- Thank you Joseph ( on St Josephs Day)

I wonder what you were like as a dad,

were you kind,

were you strict?

maybe the perfect balance of both…

and as your family grew did you look back

at that life changing decision to marry Mary,

to take Jesus as your own,

did you bathe scraped knees,

did you give advice?

Did you ponder what might have been?

Did you teach him to pray,

to read,

to play?

However you were,

you were a part of his life,

a big part,

he learned a trade from you,

learned to be part of a family

under your care,

so thank you Joseph,

for hearing,

for accepting,

for obeying,

for responding to angels, and dreams

and the Spirits nudges

thank you

for reminding us

that there are no bit parts in God’s kin (g)-dom…

About Sally C

How do I describe myself, I am not what I do, (I am a Methodist Minister), I am not who I am related to (I have 5 wonderful children, 2 lovely granddaughters and 2 lovely grandsons). I am a seeker truth, a partaker of life in all it's fullness and a follower, sometimes stumbling, sometimes celebrating of the Christian pathway. I seek wholeness, joy and a connectedness to all things through a deep reconciliation with the God whose love blows my socks off! I love walking, swimming and photography, I dabble with paint and poetry...
