Lent Day 13 (b) noticing

On my walk today

I tried to take the time to notice things,

blue skies and bird song,

blackbirds, robins, blue-tits,

a couple of young squirrels

unearthing their winter store…

the sound of the river,

the wind in the bramches,

but most of all I noticed the flowers,

delicate blossoms holding firmly to branches,

or hugging the ground,

poking triumphantly through

autumns fallen leaves,

vibrant yellow calling out,

ta-da!

delicate white and pink,

could have been so easily trampled,

I am glad I noticed them instead….

consider the lilies,

the Spirit whispered,

you are noticed too,

remember you are not alone!

About Sally C

How do I describe myself, I am not what I do, (I am a Methodist Minister), I am not who I am related to (I have 5 wonderful children, 2 lovely granddaughters and 2 lovely grandsons). I am a seeker truth, a partaker of life in all it's fullness and a follower, sometimes stumbling, sometimes celebrating of the Christian pathway. I seek wholeness, joy and a connectedness to all things through a deep reconciliation with the God whose love blows my socks off! I love walking, swimming and photography, I dabble with paint and poetry...
