Songs from the edge of exile: 2

Today we sang our hymns of faith,

they reassure us, and we were

cocooned for a while

in a warm blanket

of yesterdays tales…

..and for a while

we were comforted

by our memories,

and reminded of

past assurances…

but…

..what will tomorrow bring,

when the cold light of day

beckons us forward,

away from the past

to the present

reality, and tomorrows

possibilities…

Will you be there

when the daylight

wraps its fingers around out hearts,

and our questions

re-surface?

Will you be there

when we look into

the mirror

and realise that the past, is

truly past?

Will you lead us forward?

Do you have a plan?

Can you make

the deserts bloom

again?

Lord I believe,

help thou mine

unbelief…

About Sally C

How do I describe myself, I am not what I do, (I am a Methodist Minister), I am not who I am related to (I have 5 wonderful children, 2 lovely granddaughters and 2 lovely grandsons). I am a seeker truth, a partaker of life in all it's fullness and a follower, sometimes stumbling, sometimes celebrating of the Christian pathway. I seek wholeness, joy and a connectedness to all things through a deep reconciliation with the God whose love blows my socks off! I love walking, swimming and photography, I dabble with paint and poetry...
