Songs at the edge of exile: 9

Finally, through light and shadow,

over hill, and in the deepest valley,

when we realised we were lost

we sat a while

and mourned,

our pride,

our centre stage role,

our pageants,

plays and Sunday Schools,

and we wept

for days gone by

until

our eyes cleared,

and our hearts stilled,

and there was silence,

then through the silence

came a single note,

and from it flowed the song

of all our days,

ancient in it’s

eternal newness,

and it called us to raise our eyes

and see

what lay before us,

and our hearts beat faster

with the rhythm

we both knew and did not know,

and a question came to our lips;

“How do we dance here?”

Just follow came the reply,

and step by step

we are following

as His glory unfolds

all around us….

About Sally C

How do I describe myself, I am not what I do, (I am a Methodist Minister), I am not who I am related to (I have 5 wonderful children, 2 lovely granddaughters and 2 lovely grandsons). I am a seeker truth, a partaker of life in all it's fullness and a follower, sometimes stumbling, sometimes celebrating of the Christian pathway. I seek wholeness, joy and a connectedness to all things through a deep reconciliation with the God whose love blows my socks off! I love walking, swimming and photography, I dabble with paint and poetry...
