show me what is right,
where to use my passion,
and my power,
(for to deny that I have power
is perhaps the greatest lie that I can tell,)
teach me to choose to take the towel,
the lower place,
the lesser path,
to place my footsteps
into the steps of he
who clung to nothing
emptied himself of everything,
taking the way of the cross,
of blood soaked sweat,
fought through the veil of tears,
and gave and gave, and gave again…
+
like him,
I know who I am, and whose I am,
so I take the mantle lightly,
a yoke, to walk and work
in the unforced rhythms of grace
+
show me what is right,
where to use my passion, and my power….
