Holocaust…

On this day,

when, if we remember,

we pause to remember

the word that should

catch in our throats,

and stop our breath,

on this day, as we contemplate all

of the horrors it contains,

let us not be blind to our inconsistencies.

for other horrors lurk

may they not dim in the glare

of this, but allow it to highlight

humanities capacity

for inhumanity….

+

still we declare others

unworthy,

unacceptable,

unnecessary…

+

on this day,

as we remember

may we be re-minded,

to strive to say again,

NEVER AGAIN,

and in our remembering,

knowing we have already failed

may we stand

to truly face ourselves….

+

on this day, may we seek to strive

to find the way of unity

through love…

About Sally C

How do I describe myself, I am not what I do, (I am a Methodist Minister), I am not who I am related to (I have 5 wonderful children, 2 lovely granddaughters and 2 lovely grandsons). I am a seeker truth, a partaker of life in all it's fullness and a follower, sometimes stumbling, sometimes celebrating of the Christian pathway. I seek wholeness, joy and a connectedness to all things through a deep reconciliation with the God whose love blows my socks off! I love walking, swimming and photography, I dabble with paint and poetry...
