Here I go again,

walking to escape

the lies that

whisper to me

in the night,

and the truths that I struggle

to live with…

I never out walk them,

they return, over and over,

sometimes the darkness

grants them confidence,

and they chatter

gleefully,

they have found their prey….

so today,

as I place one foot before the other,

I choose a new way,

I will turn,

confront them,

own them, embrace them,

befriend them….

I will rob them of their power!

in my light and dark dwell

as sunshine and shadow

I am never one without the other!

so voices, I hear you,

my own, and my projected others,

but I am re-minded,

have been reminded,

that darkness always gathers

around the light….
