Trees and lights,
Songs,
Cards,
Candles,
Shopping lists,
And frantic preparations,
Long to do lists,
All to celebrate the birth
Of one who came
Thousands of years ago,
And here in the dark of winter,
As the world yearns turn
Towards the light again,
I pray that we would see
Afresh the wonder and the mystery,
That he can be reborn
Over and over in us,
Bringing hope
That all can and will be well,
And that my story, and your story
Can be woven into his-story,
Becoming part of the beginning
And the ending,
Uncontained by eternities
Infinite possibilities
