Keep me Lord,
as a candle burning
loves pure light,
between hope and despair,
faith and doubt,
life and death.
+
Keep me grounded,
grounded in your reality,
and not the lie where wealth
and power reign.
+
Keep me open,
that I might hear your voice
stilling me in the storms,
and anchoring me in the calm,
lest I should drift away unknowingly.
+
Keep me hopeful,
when I stumble and fall, and
when temptation comes,
remind me that my hope is in you,
and not dependent upon my abilities.
+
Keep me faithful,
even when I feel abandoned,
and you seem distant or silent.
Grant me grace-filled reminders
to sustain my days.
+
Keep me moving,
that I might not become a stagnant pool,
so let your living water flow
to me and through me,
a spring of life welling up.
+
Keep me Lord,
as a candle burning
loves pure light,
between hope and despair,
faith and doubt,
life and death.
+
May I be alight with love for you, and for your world.
