No longer my own (a prayer)

You can find the Methodist Covenant Prayer and some information about it here.

I am

no longer my own,

I place myself

into your hands

 trusting you to lead me…

+

in you I hide my heart,

my mind, my life,

through you and for you

I choose to live…

+

even today I choose life,

even today,

so help me Holy One

I need your strength,

I need to know

deep within that

your grace IS sufficient,

that I can love

because you loved me first,

that I can thrive

because I am found in you,

bound in you, clothed

from head to foot

in the riches of your grace,

no longer defined by

my weaknesses,

my frailty,

my flaws,

I am no longer my own….

Grace

and I hear you call:

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Matthew 11:28-30

About Sally C

I am a seeker truth, a partaker of life in all it's fullness and a follower, sometimes stumbling, sometimes celebrating of the Christian pathway. I seek wholeness, joy and a connectedness to all things through a deep reconciliation with the God whose love blows my socks off! I love walking, swimming and photography, I dabble with paint and poetry...
