How long must we wait,
How long must we yearn
groaning deeply
with sighs inexpressible
knowing there is more,
there will be more
than we now know,
knowing
when we reach for wholeness,
when we brush our finger tips
gently on the hem
of glory,
and shiver with the hidden
power of it we know
the day is coming,
is coming,
and the Spirit stirs our souls
to deeper longings,
deeper yearnings,
as S/he prays
and longs
within us…
