I fight for breath,
the air, clear a
moment ago has
tuned to treacle
clogging and cloying,
causing my heart to
thunder fiercely in my chest,
fighting for survival.
I struggle to place
one foot in front of another
muscles refuse to comply,
each foot is weighted now
heavier than lead,
and invisible chains surround me,
mind over matter,
or matter over mind.
it was not clear which
carried me to my destination,
the clock has stopped
the world rushes by,
I can hear my heart now,
blood setting in my veins
struggles to chart its
normal course…
I wait for
the world
to turn black…
